20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛.
21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.

24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this [] just person: see ye to it.
25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛, he delivered him to be [to impale on the cross; to extinguish (subdue) passion or selfishness: – crucify. stake or post (as set upright), a pole cross (as an instrument of capital punishment); exposure to death, self denial; implying the atonement of The Messiah: – cross.] crucified. 1 Then Pilate therefore took Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛, and scourged him.
2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.

31 And after that they had mocked him, Matt 27:31..Mk 15:20

4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.

The Messiah has been judged and found not guilty by Pilate and Herod, he has been flogged. Matt 27:26 & Mk 15:15 and is now, ready to be released.

Matthew 27:31..Mark 15:20..John 19:16

It is “obvious that, Pontius Pilate, Governor of Judaea, The Judge, wanted absolutely nothing to do with this case that involved the Messiah, and it would appear that, the only thing he did have to do with this case that involved the Messiah, was: 1) He questioned (judged) The Messiah. 2) He questioned others about The Messiah. 3) He sent The Messiah to Herod to be judged, and Herod, having judged The Messiah, returned The Messiah to Pilate, as a man, in whom he found, no fault worthy of death. 4) Pilate had been sent a message from his wife, about The Messiah, and he probably, read the message, from his wife, about The Messiah, believed what she said, and heeded her advice. 5) Pilate himself, had found No fault worthy of death within,The Messiah. 6) He scourged The Messiah, which he might have done, in the hope that the Jews would be content, and allow him to release The Messiah, whom he wanted to set free. Jn 19:12..Lke 23:16,22..Acts 3:13.. 7) The Jews wanted the Messiah (crucified) put to death, however Pontius Pilate, having found the Messiah “Not Guilty” was “Not Prepared” to put the Messiah to death. 7) He passed sentence in relation to The Messiah, that it should be as they [(the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, and the officers..The whole multitude..The whole council..The Jews..Jn 19:6,7,12-16..Matt 27:1,2..Mk 15:1..Lke 23:1] required, and, when releasing the Messiah to the Jewish people, he said to them, “See you to it!” *Lke 23:24 I have not found a record in the bible, that states that, Pilate asked his soldiers to bash, abuse, and or, mock The Messiah!
