About a mile from Jerusalem, across the brook of Cedron, at the foot of the mount of Olives was a garden called Gethsemane.

After Judas left the upper room, Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said, Jn 13:31-38 & Jn 14:1-31 & Jn 15:1-27 & Jn 16:1-33 and then, Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ prayed the words that are written in John chapter 17

From the time that Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ and his disciples left the upper room to the time of the Messiah’s arrest…

.
And then Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ and his disciples came outside, and went, as he wanted to, over a brook called Cedron, to the mount of Olives; where there was a place called Gethsemane, it was a garden, and Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ and his disciples went into the garden.

And Judas, who [paradidomai..betray, deliver up, give up, give over] betrayed him, knew of that place: Because Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ and his disciples [pollakis..many times, oftimes, often, oft] often gathered together there.

Then Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to the disciples, You sit here, while I go and pray over [ekei] there.

And he took Peter and James and John, the two sons of Zebedee with him, and he began to be very [perilupos..sad, sorry, sorrowful] sad and very [ademoneo..faint, distressed, very heavy] distressed.

And when he got to the place where he was going to pray, He said to them My [psuche..soul, mind, heart, life] mind is [perilupos..very sorry, very sad] full of sorrow to the death: [meno] you wait here, and watch with me.

And he went a little further away, and he fell face down on the ground and he prayed, that if it was possible, the time would go away from him. And he said, Father, O my Father, All things are possible to you; if it is possible take this cup away from me: nevertheless not what I want, but what you want.

And he came to his disciples, and he found them asleep, and he said to Peter, Simon, you sleep? What, couldn’t you watch with me for one hour.

Watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation: the spirit [men..truly, indeed] is truly willing, but the flesh is weak.

And again he went away for the second time, and prayed, and he spoke about the same [logos..matter, question] matter, and he said, O my Father, if this cup cannot pass away from me unless I drink it, your will be done.

And when he came back to the disciples, he found them asleep again, (because bareomai..they were so tired that they couldn’t keep their eyes open,) and they didn’t know what to say to Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛.

And he left them and went away again, and he was about a stone’s throw away from them, and he knelt down and he prayed for the third time, and again he spoke about the [logos..matter, question] same matter.

And he said, Father , if you are willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but yours, be done.

And an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.

And being in a state of [agonia..anguish, agony, struggle, contest] agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat became great drops of blood and they ran down to the ground (Wycliffe..Lke 22:4).

And when he got up from praying, He came to the disciples for the third time, and he found them asleep again, because they were sorrowful, and he said to them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold: the time is near, and the Son of man (I..Matt 16:13) have been delivered into the hands of sinners.

And immediately, while he was still speaking, he who was called Judas one of the twelve disciples who had, by now, been given chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, a band of men and officers ..multitudes from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders of the people and Pharisees, came there, and with him was a [polus..much, abundant, plenteous, great, a great deal, many, numerous] great [ochlos..number of people, company, press, crowd, multitude] multitude with lanterns and torches and weapons (swords and staves)..The chief priests and the scribes and the elders feared an uproar of the people..Matt 26:3-5..Mk 14:1,2..Lke 22:52..Matt 26:55..so, they had to have had enough people to take The Messiah and also to be able to control his followers in the event that the word got out that The Messiah had been captured and there was an uproar of the people..Some of the chief priests and captains and elders were among the multitude of people that arrested The Messiah in the garden of Gethsemane.

Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ therefore, knowing everything that was going to happen to him, went forward, and said to them, Whom do you [zeteo] require?

They answered him, Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ of Nazareth. Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to them, I am he, And Judas also, which [paradidomai..betray, deliver up, give up, give over] betrayed him, stood with them.

And as soon as Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to them, I am he, they went backward, and they fell to the ground.

Then Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ asked them again, Whom do you [zeteo] require? And they said, Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ of Nazareth.

Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore you [zeteo] require me, let these go their way:

That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Of them which you gave me I have lost none.

Now he that [paradidomai..betray, deliver up, give up, give over] betrayed him had given them a [semeion ..sign, signal] sign, saying, Whoever I shall kiss, that one is he; take him, [krateo] hold him fast, and lead him safely away.

And as soon as Judas came, he went before the great multitude of men and officers, and the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, Lke 22:52 with lanterns and torches and swords and staves, from the chief priests and Pharisees, and the scribes and the elders of the people, and he said, Master, master; But Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to Judas, Friend, why have you come? and Judas kissed him, and Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said, Judas, [paradidomai..betray, deliver up, give up, give over] betrayest you the Son of man (me..Matthew 16:13) with a kiss?..Some of the chief priests and captains and elders were among the multitude of people that arrested the Messiah in the garden of Gethsemane..Lke 22:52

And they laid their hands on him, and when the disciples who were around him saw what was going to happen, they said to Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛, Lord, shall we [patasso..smite, strike] smite with the sword?

And, behold, Simon Peter, one of the disciples who was with Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛, having a sword, stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and smote Malchus, the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.

Then Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to Peter, Put up your sword into the sheath: because all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword, the cup which my [pater] Father has given me, shall I not drink it?

Do you think that now I cannot pray to my [pater] Father, and he shall [paristemi] presently give me more than twelve [legeon..regiment..legion] regiments of angels?

But then how will the scriptures be fulfilled, that [houto, houtos] in this manner it must be. And he touched his ear and healed him.

In that same [hora] instant Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, and the multitudes, which were come to him, Have you come out against me with swords and staves to take me like a thief?

When I was with you each day in the temple, you didn’t stretch forth your hands against me: but this is your [hora] time, and the [exousia..privilege, jurisdiction, authority, power] jurisdiction of [skotos.. darkness, obscurity] the devil. Eg: Jn 8:44..Lke 4:5,6

But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and [pheugo..escape, flee, run away] ran away.

Then the [speira] the great multitude of men and captains and officers of the Jews, and chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, who were armed with lanterns and torches and swords and staves, from the chief priests and Pharisees, and the scribes and the elders of the people, took Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ and he was [deo..wind, tie, bind] tied up..Some of the chief priests and captains and elders were among the multitude of people that arrested Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ in the garden of Gethsemane..Lke 22:52

And there was a certain young man following Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ and he had a linen cloth wrapped around his naked body, and the young men took hold of him:

And he left the linen cloth, and ran away from them naked.

And those who had taken hold of Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ led him away, and they brought him into the house of Caiaphas the high priest, and with him were assembled all of the chief priests and the elders and the scribes, and they took him to Annas first; because he was the father inlaw of Caiaphas, who was the high priest that same year, And Peter followed far off.

About a mile from Jerusalem, across the brook of Cedron, at the foot of the mount of Olives was a garden called Gethsemane.

Then Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ and his disciples went over the brook Cedron, and they went to the mount of Olives, and they went into a garden called Gethsemane, and Judas, the disciple which betrayed Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ The Messiah, knew of the garden: because Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ and his disciples often used to assemble there.

Then Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to some of the disciples, Sit here, while I go and pray over there. And he took Simon Peter, and James and John Zebedee with him. And when he got to the place, he said to them, I am very sorrowful because I am going to die, wait here, and pray that you don’t enter into temptation, and watch with me.

And he went about a stone’s throw away from them, and he fell to his knees on the ground, and he prayed, and he said, O my Father, everything is possible for you, if you are willing, take this cup away from me: nevertheless, not what I would have, but your will be done.

And then he got up from praying and he went to the disciples, and he found them asleep because they too were sorrowful, and he said to them, why are you sleeping? and he said to Simon Peter, What, couldn’t you watch with me for one hour? Rise up and pray, that you do not enter into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

And then he went away again the second time and prayed, and he spoke the same words, and he said, O my Father, if this cup cannot be taken away from me, except I drink it, your will be done. And when he came back, he found the disciples asleep again, (because they were so tired that they couldn’t keep their eyes open,) and Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to them, Sleep on now and take your rest: Behold, the time is near, and I have been delivered into the hands of sinners, and the disciples did not know what to say to him.

And he left them and went away again, and he was in agony, and he prayed the third time, but this time he prayed more earnestly, as he said: O, my Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me: nevertheless, not what I would have, but your will be done; and his sweat became great drops of blood and they ran down over his face and they fell to the ground. And an angel from heaven appeared, and strengthened him.

And again he came to the disciples, and he said, Arise, let us be going: behold, he that betrayed me is near.

And straight away as he was talking, Judas, one of the twelve disciples came, and there were with him a great multitude of men and officers, and chief priests, and captains of the temple, and elders, and they had lanterns and torches, and they were armed with swords and staves, and they had been sent by the chief priests and Pharisees, and the scribes and elders of the people..Some of the chief priests and captains and elders were among the multitude of people that arrested The Messiah in the garden of Gethsemane..Lke 22:52

Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ therefore, because he knew everything that was going to happen to him, went towards them, and he said to them, Who is it that you want?

And they said, Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ of Nazareth. And Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to them, I am Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ of Nazareth, and Judas the disciple who betrayed him was standing among them.

And as soon as Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to them, I am Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ of Nazareth, they all went backwards, and they all fell on the ground.

Then Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to them again, Who is it that you want? And they said, Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ of Nazareth.

Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to them, I told you, that I am Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ of Nazareth: if it is me that you want, let these men go on their ways.

He said that so that the scriptures would be fulfilled, that said, Of those whom you gave me I have lost none.

Now Judas, the disciple who betrayed Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛, had given the captains and the officers a sign, he had said, the man that I kiss, he is the one, get him, and hold on to him, and take him away safely.

And as soon as Judas arrived he walked over in front of the multitude of men and officers, and chief priests, and captains of the temple, and elders, with their lanterns and torches, and swords and staves, who had been sent by the chief priests and the Pharisees, and the scribes and elders of the people, and he said to Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛, Master, master, and Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to Judas, Friend why are you here, and Judas kissed Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛, and Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said, Judas, are you betraying me with a kiss?..Some of the chief priests and captains and elders were among the multitude of people that arrested The Messiah in the garden of Gethsemane..Lke 22:52

And the captains and the officers took hold of Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛, and when the disciples saw what was happening to Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛, they said, Lord will we strike them with our swords?

And Simon Peter had a sword, and he stretched his arm out, and he pulled his sword out of its sheath, and he cut off the right ear of Malchus, the servant of the high priest.

Then Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to Peter, Put your sword back into its sheath, because everyone who takes up the sword, will perish by the sword, the cup which my Father has given me, should I not drink it?

Do you think I can’t pray to my Father now, and he would presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

But how would the scriptures be fulfilled, that say it must be this way. And Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ touched the right ear of Malchus, and he was healed.

At that very instant Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ said to the multitudes of people who had come for him, Have you come to get me with swords and staves like a thief?

When I was with you every day in the temple, you didn’t stretch out your hands against me: but this is your time, and the power of the devil. Eg: Jn 8:44..Lke 4:5,6

And all of this was done so that the scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled. Then all of the disciples forsook Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛, and they ran away.

Then the great multitude of men and captains and officers of the Jews, and chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, who had lanterns and torches and swords and staves, and who were from the chief priests and Pharisees, and the scribes and the elders of the people, took Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ and he was tied up..Some of the chief priests and captains and elders were among the multitude of people that arrested Jesus Christ in the garden of Gethsemane..Lke 22:52

And there was a young man following Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛, and he had a linen cloth wrapped around his naked body, and the young men took hold of him:

And he left the linen cloth and he ran away from them naked.

And the men who had captured Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ led him away, and they took him to the house of Caiaphas the high priest, and with Caiaphas, were assembled all of the chief priests and the scribes, and they took him to Annas first; because Annas was the father inlaw of Caiaphas, who was the high priest that year, And Simon Peter followed Yehôshûa‛ Yehôshûa‛ from far off.

This story is a variation of the actual betrayal of The Messiah which is recorded in the Holy Bible in Jn 18:1-13..Matt 26:36-57..Mk 14:32-53..Lke 22:39-54
